ISO 18001 OHSAS: Standard for
Occupational Health and Safety Managemen
What is ISO 18001 OHSAS?
ISO OHSAS 18001 is an international standard which is related to the health and safety of the employees. ISO 18001 enables an organisation to have control over relevant hazards and abnormal situations. It provides a way for the organisation to improve its performance. OHSAS 18001 provides a framework to identify, monitor and decrease the risk associated with health and safety of employees within the workplace. Implementing the standard will send a clear signal to your stakeholder that the health and safety of your employee is your priority.
OHSAS 18001:2007 is a framework for an occupational health and safety (ohs) management system. It is a part of the OHSAS 18000 (sometimes incorrectly identified as ISO 18000) series of standards, along with OHSAS 18002. It can help you put in place the policies, procedures and controls needed for your organisation to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety, aligned to internationally recognized best practice.
OHSAS 18001:2007 sets out the minimum requirements for occupational health and safety management best practice. Work with us to bring work health and safety (h&s) into your business, and you can achieve the maximum return for your employees, your operations and your customers.
As a business owner, you are legally obliged to provide a safe working environment for your employees. This means doing everything you can to ensure that you and your staff won’t get hurt or contract an illness due to something in the workplace.
Implementing an ISO 18001-compliant health and safety management system is a great way to ensure that you are protecting your workers and meeting your legal obligations. A good health and safety management system covers all possibilities and constantly evolves to ensure that any new risks are accounted for as soon as they arise.
